Soekarno Hatta International Airport

Angkasa Pura was founded by the Indonesian Government in 1962 under the name State Company (PN) Angkasa Pura Kemayoran. On February 20 1964, PN Angkasa Pura Kemayoran officially took over all assets and operations of Kemayoran Airport from the Ministry of Transportation and was given responsibility for managing airports in the central and eastern regions of Indonesia.


In 1984, the Indonesian Government established the Jakarta Cengkareng Airport Public Company (Perum) to manage Soekarno-Hatta Airport. In 1986, the company's name changed to Perum Angkasa Pura II. This was also followed by a change in the name of Perum Angkasa Pura to Perum Angkasa Pura I which was assigned to manage airports in the eastern region of Indonesia.


On September 6 2024, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia was formed through the merger of Angkasa Pura I and Angkasa Pura II under the banner of InJourney as a strategic solution to increase efficient and effective air connectivity, while supporting the tourism ecosystem to encourage economic growth and equality in Indonesia.


One of the airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia is Soekarno-Hatta International Airport which is in the Regional 1 area of the Tangerang-Banten region. Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is the main airport that serves flights to the Jabodetabek area which has 3 (three) main terminals with different passenger capacities at each terminal. Terminal 1 has a capacity of 36 million, Terminal 2 has a capacity of 21 million, Terminal 3 has a capacity of 51 million.

The length of the runway at Soekarno Hatta International Airport is runway 1 and 2 which is 3,660 meters long and runway 3 is 3,000 meters long. These three runways are 60 meters wide, making Soekarno-Hatta airport the only airport in Indonesia that has three runways. This airport also has a special cargo terminal for domestic and international cargo which is the main gateway for international flights in Indonesia.
